Connecting to USC Upstate Wireless on an iPhone or iPad

It is possible to connect to the Upstate wireless (and save on cellular fees!) from your Apple iOS device by following these simple steps:

  1. Tap the "Settings" button on your home screen.

  2. Tap the "Wi-Fi" icon.

  3.  Make sure the Wi-Fi is turned on and tap "USC Upstate." Once connected, you should see a check mark next to the network. You can test it by opening Safari and browsing to a web page.

  4. If you have problems connecting, check the signal strength. If it is too low you may need to move to another area with a better wireless signal.
  5. If you have a good signal strength but still cannot connect to the Internet, tap the blue arrow to the right of "USC Upstate." You will see a screen with the IP Address and other information. First, try tapping the "Renew Lease" button. If that doesn't work tap "Forget This Network" and then rejoin as in step 3.
