Beta Gamma Sigma is the international honor society recognizing the outstanding academic achievements of students enrolled in collegiate business and management programs accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Membership in the society is the highest recognition a business student anywhere in the world can receive in a baccalaureate program in business.

Rebecca Goessel
Instructor, Accounting
Becky Goessel earned both her Bachelor of Science in Accounting and her Master of Professional Accounting from Clemson University. She is a certified public accountant (CPA) as well as a chartered global management accountant (CGMA).With more than 19 years of experience, Becky Goessel has a strong background in big four accounting, auditing, financial analysis, month-end closing, financial reporting, corporate budgeting and management reporting. She remains active in the business community serving on a board of directors as well as promoting financial literacy education.
Dr. Elise Harvey
Assistant Professor, Marketing
Dr. Harvey earned both her master's degree and her doctoral degree at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and a Honors Bachelor of Science in finance at Oklahoma State University. Her primary research interests include nontraditional families, consumer socialization, advertising to children, children's use of new media and socio-cultural events. She recently published work in Social Science Quarterly. Her teaching experience includes Introduction to Marketing, Marketing Communications Strategy and Contemporary Marketing. Prior to joining academia, Dr. Harvey worked in the Corporate Treasury at Koch Industries, Inc.
Dr. Frank Rudisill
Dean, Associate Professor, Management
Dr. Rudisill received a doctorate in management science from Clemson University. He joined the USC Upstate faculty in fall 2002. He teaches in the areas of management, operations management and statistics. He has 20 years experience in industry as a statistician, operations research manager and statistical quality control consultant. His research interests focus upon applying quality tools and techniques in solving industrial problems. He has published in Production and Inventory Management and Quality Engineering. He is the co-author of a book, Quality Management and Measurement Systems. Dr. Rudisill is a member of the American Society of Quality and holds APICS certification.
Dr. Kyle Turner
Assistant Professor, Management
Dr. Turner joined the JCBE faculty in August 2015. Prior to joining the faculty at USC Upstate, he earned his doctorate in Organizations and Strategy from the University of Tennessee. His research interests are primarily in the strategic management domain. Specifically, his research focuses on competitive dynamics, coopetition and how organizations leverage non-market strategies such as corporate social responsibility. He has taught, and continues to teach, courses in the areas of strategic management and international management.
Dr. Elnora Stuart
Professor, Marketing
Dr. Stuart joined the faculty in 2008. She earned her doctorate in Marketing from the University of South Carolina. Before coming to USC Upstate, Dr. Stuart was a visiting professor of marketing at the Instituto de Empressa in Madrid, Spain. She has also served as professor of marketing, BP Egypt Oil Professor of Management Studies, marketing unit head and AACSB Accreditation Coordinator for the Department of Management at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
Dr. Julie Wade
Assistant Professor, Management
Dr. Julie Wade completed both her master’s degree in marketing and her doctoral degree in management information systems at Clemson University. Her research interests include virtual communities, post-adoptive IT usage and using social media for human resources activities. Julie's research has been featured in the Upstate Business Journal, GSA Business Journal, the Greenville Journal, the Clemson Newsstand and many other outlets.
Michael Wooten
Instructor, Accounting
Michael Wooten earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Management from Erskine College and his Masters of Accountancy from Western Carolina University. His areas of interest include governmental and not-for-profit accounting. Before joining the faculty at the University of South Carolina Upstate, Mr. Wooten had the pleasure of being one of its students. His love of the Johnson College of Business and Economics, and its student body, lead him to this position at the college. He is active in the local community by serving on the board of directors of a Spartanburg non-profit organization and the Spartanburg chapter of the Institute of Managerial Accountants.
