Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance
The Office of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance has responsibility for data collection and the analysis, distribution and presentation of this information for use in planning, assessment, decision-making and policy formation at the University.
Ensuring timeliness and accuracy, the office also serves as the central repository for statistical information regarding the University and responds to information requests from a broad spectrum of internal and external clients. Other major functions include assisting University personnel with research and assessment methodology, evaluation, and analysis, and complying with state- and federally-mandated reporting requirements.
Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance
Dr. Kimberly Walker has been the Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance at the University of South Carolina Upstate since January 2019 and has worked in assessment and institutional effectiveness at the institutional level, statewide, and program specific assessment areas for a number of years. Kimberly has presented at state, regional, and national assessment conferences that include SCAIR, SAIR, AIR, AALHE, and IUPUI’s Assessment Institute in addition to scholarly publications regarding assessment best-practice, faculty liaisons, and continuous improvement.
Assessment and Data Analyst
Kathy earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration and marketing from Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. Kathy served in the Army prior to joining the University of South Carolina Upstate in March 2016 as the assessment and data analyst for the Institutional Effectiveness and Compliance Department.
