University of South Carolina Upstate
The University of South Carolina Upstate proudly presents A Collection of Chancellor Tom Moore’s Photography. Photographs in this collection were taken in Colorado, Montana, and the People’s Republic of China spanning from July 2009 to May 2011.
Dr. Moore’s career in higher education, which spans 30 years, is quite distinguished across the state of South Carolina. Yet he has maintained his passion for photography on a more personal, unassuming level. A scientist by education and intellect, Dr. Moore uses photography as an outlet to explore his artistic and creative abilities.
An accomplished amateur photographer, Dr. Moore has a keen eye for composition and lighting. He fills each frame with the subject at hand, creating a heightened visual interest. Shooting from various angles, he makes the best use of perspective in a way that is very eye-pleasing. The lines in his photographs add creative interest and draw attention to his subject matter. The end result is the ability to transcribe a multisensory experience (scents, wind, textures, etc.) into a visual medium. Hopefully you will experience these sensations when viewing Dr. Moore’s photographs.
This exhibit coincides with a campus-wide celebration in preparation of the Investiture Ceremony of Dr. Thomas F. Moore, which will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. The Investiture Celebration honors Dr. Moore as the University celebrates his installation as USC Upstate’s third chancellor in its 45-year history.
