The USC Upstate library is all about answers. Here, students will find the answers to their research needs, their classwork needs, their study needs and even their lifestyle needs. Students will find a variety of spaces available to them including quiet, individual study areas, group study
rooms, multimedia listening and viewing rooms, assistive equipment rooms for the listening and viewing impaired, a 24/7 computer lab accessible after hours with a student ID, and two computer labs are open during regular library hours.
Students will find many, individual desks located on the second level of the library. These areas are for quiet study. Please remember to keep voices lowered in this area. Group Study rooms are on the first floor at the far end of the library. Ideal for group work,
these study rooms include seating, tables and whiteboards that can accommodate several people. Markers for the white boards may be checked out at the circulation desk. Group work spaces are first come, first serve.
Three computer labs are available for students in the library. A glass-enclosed, 24/7 computer lab is located at the front of the library’s main entrance. The glass lab is unavailable briefly for five minutes while the library closes. After library hours, a USC Upstate ID must be scanned at the
foyer entrance to enter the lab. Computer labs 115 and 118 open with the Library and close 30 minutes prior to the library closing. Periodically throughout the semester, both of these labs may be closed for instruction sessions.
This area, located near the first group study room, is used for the listening impaired and viewing impaired. The room is equipped with low density lighting for screen reading, Braille books, JAWS software and KURZWEIL Reader.
The USC Upstate Library also offers a television and DVD/VCR player in this room for viewing class related materials.
