Educator Workshops

Enhance your STEM technique toolbox and earn recertification credits in one or more “Project” workshops.

The Watershed Ecology Center at USC Upstate is offering a series of one-day workshops covering the Project WET, Project Wild, and Project Learning Tree curricula. Participants can choose to attend any combination of the sessions. Each session will award 6 hours of recertification credit* and focuses on a specific one of the “Projects.”

Participants will become familiar with the curriculum materials and teaching methodologies associated with this internationally recognized water education program. Recommended by the NSTA, this hands-on workshop will provide you with the background and materials to add these standards-based lessons to your curriculum. The day will start with facilitator led activities where participants take on the role of students and engage in the activities as the learner. As the day progresses participants become the educator and ultimately lead the group in one or more of the lessons in the Project WET Curriculum and Activity Guide 2.0©

Project WILD: June 6, 2018 at USC Upstate

Participants will become familiar with the curriculum materials and teaching methodologies associated with this interdisciplinary conservation and environmental education program. Using materials developed by the Council for Environmental Education, this hands-on workshop will provide the background and materials to add these standards-based lessons to your curriculum. The day will start with facilitator led activities where participants take on the role of students and engage in the activities as the learner. As the day progresses participants become the educator and ultimately lead the group in one or more of the lessons in the Project WILD Curriculum and  Activity Guide©  

Project Learning Tree: June 7, 2018 at USC Upstate

Participants will become familiar with the curriculum materials and teaching methodologies associated with this award winning forestry education program. Using materials developed by the American Forest Foundation, this hands-on workshop will provide the background and materials to add these standards-based lessons to your curriculum. The day will start with facilitator led activities where participants take on the role of students and engage in the activities as the learner. As the day progresses participants become the educator and ultimately lead the group in one or more of the lessons in the Project Learning Tree Environmental Education Activity Guide©

  • Cost for one workshop will be $50, two different workshops $90.00, and three different workshops $120.
  • Workshops run from 9 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
  • Participants must attend the entire time and complete an evaluation for each workshop
  • to receive a certificate of attendance and a copy of the activity guide.
  • A light lunch and snacks will be included.

* A certificate of completion with hours of attendance will be awarded at the end of each day. Preapproval by your supervising administrator is required to insure the contact hours will count for recertification credits.
