To be considered for a USC Upstate Robert Noyce Teaching Scholarship, a candidate must fulfill the admissions requirements for the School of Education, Human Performance, and Health (SoEHPH) Professional Program and complete the professional program application. Students must maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this program. Preference will be given to transfer students from SCC as well as students that have participated in the internship program.
Fall applications will be reviewed through July 15th.
Spring applications will be reviewed through December 20th.
Noyce scholars will receive $11,688 in funding for a 12-month period. Should the candidate remain in good standing, receive a C or better in all of their 400 level education courses, receive a C or better in all of their content area courses, and maintain a minimum of 3.0 GPA, the scholarship will be automatically renewed for a second 12-month period. If the candidate remains in good standing, the scholarship will be renewed for a third year for the candidate to complete a dual major in mathematics or science and secondary education. If a candidate is not in good standing, the candidate will have the opportunity to reapply the following year for the scholarship if they regain good standing.
The grant will fund scholars beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year. Students that are juniors (at least 60 credit hours earned) in that academic year are encouraged to apply. Contact Dr. Stephen Bismarck (firstname.lastname@example.org) for further details.
