Services

Counseling Services offers students confidential support through:

  • Individual and Couples Counseling: To help students deal with an array of personal and interpersonal issues including stress, anxiety, depression, grief and relationship issues.
  • Distance Counseling: Distance Counseling is available to all currently enrolled USC Upstate students. Distance Counseling is conducted with one of our trained and certified counselors over a private and secure web-based platform. To utilize this service, you will need access to a device with a webcam and a microphone. If you are interested in obtaining Distance Counseling or for more information, please call us at 864-503-5195.
  • Group Counseling: A group environment where students may gain support and understanding from peers.
  • Crisis Intervention: To offer students with urgent emotional distress immediate assistance.
  • Psychiatric Services: To support students who may benefit from medication management.


How to Schedule an Appointment

You can contact Counseling Services between 8:00 a.m. and 6 p.m. Please call us at 864-503-5195. Our offices are located in the John M. Rampey, Jr. Center, 490 Hodge Drive, Spartanburg, SC 29303. Prepare to share your contact information, including your name, student ID number, date of birth, and phone number. Students new to counseling may also schedule via the MyHealth Patient Portal.

*Please note that individuals who do not show for their scheduled counseling, psychiatry or testing appointment will be charged a $25 fee. This fee must be paid prior to scheduling your next appointment. Fees may be paid below.
