Elizabeth Jodoin, Ph.D.
Director of Counseling Services
Liz obtained her doctorate of philosophy in educational studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, focusing her research on college counseling and college student mental health. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Springfield College and a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Liz is a licensed professional counselor in South Carolina and North Carolina and a licensed professional counselor supervisor in North Carolina.
Liz enjoys spending time with her dog. Some of her interests include general aviation, water sports and outdoor activities.
Beth is our full-time administrative assistant in Counseling Services. She has over 10 years of experience as an assistant in various office settings. Prior to becoming full-time, Beth worked for the University in a part time capacity for three years.
Originally from Northwestern Pennsylvania, Beth moved here with her husband in 2000. Together, they enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends and attending various car shows and charity events with their Corvettes. They also have an 8-year-old Great Dane named Megan.
Dee is the part-time administrative assistant in counseling services. She relocated to the Upstate after working 25 years at a Washington, D.C., law firm. She also serves as a clerk for the South Carolina voting polls.
Born on the fourth of July, she loves celebrating that holiday with family and friends and enjoys reading and traveling as well as attending jazz concerts.
Dr. Freeman obtained her Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology, with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology at the American School of Professional Psychology in Orange, California. She also holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology. In her eight years of experience, Dr. Freeman has had extensive experience and clinical training in collegiate mental health, providing individual therapeutic services, comprehensive psychological assessment services, crisis intervention and management, group therapy services, outreach presentations, and clinical supervision.
Brooke Hill-Allen, Ph.D.
Assistant Director of Counseling Services
Dr. Hill-Allen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology and Social Work from Baylor University, a Master's of Education in Counseling from University of Houston-Victoria, and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University.
Born and raised in Texas, Dr. Hill-Allen recently relocated to South Carolina. In her spare time, Dr. Hill-Allen enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Ellen has a Bachelor of Arts from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Science in psychology from Pennsylvania State University. She has worked at USC Upstate for 18 years. Ellen is a Certified Eden Energy Medicine practitioner and has a certificate in Somatic Experiencing trauma work. She is interested in using yogic and body awareness techniques as tools for personal healing and development.
She lived in Aiken until college. Since then, she has enjoyed many different areas of the country. Her other interest include gardening, yoga, walking and playing with her animal companions.
Terrence earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Lander University in Greenwood, SC and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
Terrence completed his counseling internship at USC Upstate in 2013. His experience includes providing therapeutic treatment services to young adults, adolescents, and their families, AOD counseling, and behavioral modification in both community and in-home settings.
Born in Bronx, New York, Terrence has lived in South Carolina most of his life. He currently resides in Simpsonville. He enjoys spending time with his family, watching football, traveling, and reading.
