Dr. Elizabeth Jodoin is the Director of Counseling Services at the University of South Carolina Upstate. She obtained her Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Studies from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, focusing her research on college counseling and college student mental health. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Springfield College and a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Dr. Jodoin is a Licensed Professional Counselor in South Carolina and Georgia, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor in North Carolina, and a Distance Certified Counselor.

Beth is our full-time administrative assistant in Counseling Services. She has over 10 years of experience as an assistant in various office settings. Prior to becoming full-time, Beth worked for the University in a part time capacity for three years.  

Originally from Northwestern Pennsylvania, Beth moved here with her husband in 2000. Together, they enjoy traveling, spending time with family and friends and attending various car shows and charity events with their Corvettes. They also have an 8-year-old Great Dane named Megan.

Dee is the part-time administrative assistant in Counseling Services. She relocated to the Upstate after working 25 years at a Washington, D.C. law firm. She also serves as a clerk for the South Carolina voting polls.

 

Brooke Hill Allen

Dr. Hill-Allen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Supervisor. Brooke holds a Bachelor's of Arts in Sociology and Social Work from Baylor University, a Master's of Education in Counseling from University of Houston--Victoria, and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University.

Ellen Towler

Ellen obtained her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University. She obtained her Master of Science in psychology from Pennsylvania State University. She has worked at USC Upstate since 1996. Ellen is a Certified Eden Energy Medicine practitioner and has a certificate in Somatic Experiencing trauma therapy. She became a certified yoga teacher in 19 88. Her focus is on using yogic and somatic awareness techniques as tools for personal healing and development.

Terrence earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Lander University in Greenwood, SC and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.

Terrence completed his counseling internship at USC Upstate in 2013. His experience includes providing therapeutic treatment services to young adults, adolescents, and their families, AOD counseling, and behavioral modification in both community and in-home settings.

Tony Perdomo has a Bachelor of Arts in Experimental Psychology from the University of South Carolina Spartanburg (now Upstate) and a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of South Carolina.

Tony is a licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in a private practice setting since the early 2000s. He is also an approved supervisor for Social Work and others seeking to get licensed. His training is focused on effects of trauma, family systems, child development as well as biblical counseling.

Tony currently teaches in the Psychology Department as an Adjunct Professor teaching Child Advocacy and Abnormal Psychology. He loves helping others and looks forward to helping the students at USC Upstate.
