The Student Success Center strives to help students succeed in their studies, graduate from USC Upstate in a timely manner, and begin a career or graduate study. The Center is located in Library 222, and has four main areas:
Provides students with the tools and resources needed to make a smooth transition into college. Free tutoring, Supplemental Instruction for selected traditionally difficult courses, facilitation of study groups, one-on-one consultations, and referrals to other services are offered to assist students with their daily academic needs. Academic Support also offers various workshops and seminars on study skills, time management, note taking and reading strategies.
A team of professional advisors who serve first year students, student athletes, and undeclared students with an emphasis on mentorship and academic success. The advisors also provide services to students who are on academic probation as well as outreach and assistance to students who are questioning their choice of major.
Provides helpful information to students whether they are seeking their first full-time employment opportunity or looking for preparatory part-time and internship opportunities. Students should contact Career Services early during their academic career to speak with a coordinator about establishing a timeline to track progress toward their career goals. Career Services connects students with employers through campus interviews, information sessions, and other opportunities. In fact, many students who had full-time jobs before graduation applied through Career Services events.
A program designed to assist students in achieving their goals as they confront the challenges of completing a college degree. Opportunity Network provides services to eligible students from the time they are accepted to the University through graduation.
